Tour Details

Our two-day tour of the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu is designed to give you the greatest and most complete understanding of the Inca civilization. Before boarding a train to Machu Picchu, the 2-day Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu tour takes you to all the key archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

You will visit Pisac with the help of a local English-speaking tour guide. This site has an Inca site on top of a hill overlooking the valley, as well as a traditional textile market. The complex is huge, second only to Machu Picchu in terms of size.

We will provide you with an authentic Peruvian buffet lunch at a local restaurant in Urubamba to complement your Sacred Valley Tour.

Our Sacred Valley Tour concludes with a visit to the Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo. Here you will board a tourist train to Aguas Calientes.

Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - Pisac - Ollantayatmbo - Aguas Calientes

Our trip of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu begins with a pick-up from your Cusco accommodation at 7:00 a.m. Then we’ll take you to Pisac in our own transportation. We’ll start with a visit of the textile market set up by the residents in Pisac’s main square. You may get some reasonably priced mementos here. Then we’ll take you uphill to see the Pisac archaeological site.

Pisac

The complex is enormous, coming in second only to Machu Picchu in terms of size. Our local expert will take you on a detailed tour of the area, explaining the significance of each place. We’ll take you to Urubamba when you’ve had your fill of Pisac.

Urubamba

Because of its center location, Urubamba is sometimes referred to as the Sacred Valley’s heart. It is also the lowest place in terms of altitude. We’ll take a break at a nearby restaurant for a traditional buffet lunch.

Ollantaytambo

We will drive you to Ollantaytambo after you have enjoyed a typical Peruvian lunch. Since the Inca civilization, this lovely village has been significant. This used to be their administrative capital.

Ollantaytambo’s narrow cobblestone streets are a monument to Inca architecture and urban planning progress. Two Inca ruins can also be found at Ollantaytambo.

We will transport you to the train station in Ollantaytambo after touring Pisac and Ollantaytambo. You will take the train to Aguas Calientes from here. The excursion train journey provides breathtaking views of Andean highland fields and villages, as well as the Urubamba River, which runs through them.

We will be waiting for you in Aguas Calientes to transport you to your accommodation. You will have free time in the afternoon to take a stroll through this charming town. Aguas Calientes is also known for its hot springs, where you can spend the night renewing yourself.

Our local guide will meet you at your hotel that night to brief you on the following day’s adventure.

Day 2Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

The hotel staff will deliver a snack box to you first thing in this morning. After that, you’ll take a bus from Aguas Calientes to the Machu Picchu citadel’s entrance. It takes about 25 minutes to get there. Our tour guide will help you clear security and get access to the citadel.

Once inside, you’ll be rewarded with a view of the sun’s golden rays gleaming on the Incan citadel’s walls. For two hours, our guide will give you a full tour of the fortress. On this tour, you will see some of the citadel’s most important sites, which will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the fortress.

You will have some free time after the tour to explore the citadel on your own. If you have made a reservation to climb Machu Picchu or Huayna Picchu, our guide will direct you to the entrance. If you want to walk one of these mountains, please let us know when you make your reservation.

You can also take a trek to the sun gate. It provides a breathtaking perspective of the citadel. For those on the Inca Trail, Sungate is the point of entry to the fortress.

You’ll take the bus back to Aguas Calientes once you’ve gotten your fill of the Inca citadel. Then you will catch the train to Ollantaytambo here.

Our agent will greet you and transport you back to your accommodation in Cusco. At around 9:00 p.m., you will arrive in Cusco.
