Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - Pisac - Ollantaytambo - Maras - Moray - Chinchero

We’ll pick you up from your Cusco hotel. Then, in our private transportation, we’ll travel to Pisac, our first stop.

Along the journey, we’ll stop at a viewpoint at Taray that provides a breathtaking view of the valley below. The Urubamba River will wind its way through the settlements of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Pisac

One of the largest and most spectacular Inca sites, positioned atop a hill overlooking the town, is located in Pisac. We’ll drive you up the hill to the complex’s main entrance. Our local expert will take you on a tour of the complex here.

We’ll transport you to the main square after you’ve toured the complex. On weekends, the small cobblestone lanes are bustling with locals hawking their wares.

We’ll take you to Urubamba once you’ve had your fill of this lovely town. It is the lowest point of the Inca Sacred Valley. We’ll have a buffet lunch at a local restaurant here.

Ollantaytambo

We will continue the journey after enjoying a traditional lunch, we’ll visit Ollantaytambo. During the Inca Empire, this was the most important place. The advancement of Inca urbanism may be seen here. Ollantaytambo is one of the Inca Empire’s oldest and continually inhabited settlements.

Moray and Maras

Following our tour of Ollantaytambo, we will go to Maras and Moray. Both places have played an important role in the past and continue to do so today. The Incas used the circular agricultural terraces of Moray as an agricultural laboratory.

The salt mines are located at Maras. It’s been passed down through the generations, the traditional method of salt cultivation by solar evaporation and now is still used by the inhabitants of this site. Our local specialist will explain everything in great detail.

Chinchero

We will reach Chinchero at the end of our full-day tour of the sacred valley. It is where the Andean textile industry is based. Tourists frequently overlook this lovely and peaceful hamlet. It besides holds a whitewashed chapel that was formerly the Inca Emperor Pachacutec’s royal palace.

Chinchero has the most fertile soil of all the Sacred Valley sites. Many farming terraces were erected during the Inca civilization, under the reign of Pachacutec. The water canals here are a monument to Inca engineering’s progress.

Finally, we will transport you back to Cusco. We’ll drop you off one block from Cusco’s main square, Plaza de Armas.
